2002 Toyota Camry SE The Engine Starts but Does Not Stay Running
My 2002 Toyota Camry SE with 62.230 miles is having a problem. It starts but doesn't stay running although it turns over fine. I Just checked the car and changed the oil, after that, the check engine light is on but the car does not stay running. The serpentine belt was dry and squeaky, and the mechanic lubricated it. The problem has been occurred after that. Could the lubricating spray cause this problem?

Full Article here..

Answer: I don't think lubricating serpentine belt causes this. Maybe your fuel pump is not delivering enough fuel. You say that the problem occurs after lubricating the belt, do you notice that belt slipping?. Sometimes the oil or spray can get in to a sensor and make it acting weird. have you tried to push the gas pedal to keep the engine running?, how long has been doing this? before or after the serpentine belt has been lubricated?. however, the serpentine belt don't need to be lubricated.
Response: Yes I have tried to keep the engine running by pushing the gas pedal, but as soon as I took my foot off the pedal the car stopped. According to the mechanic, the belt gets dry and was lubricated with all purpose belt dressing spray that could be used on all serpentine belts.
*My 2003 Toyota Camry is doing the same thing except the check engine light comes on when the car cuts off. my car also stays on if I push the gas pedal. Sometimes I need to do this 2 - 3 times before the car stays started, no one can figure out what the problem is...
